AMICAS® RECEIVES HIGH HONORS IN KLAS® 2005 REPORT FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR
100% of AMICAS PACS customers surveyed would buy again;
100% would recommend AMICAS Vision Series™ PACS to a friend or peer

Boston, MA, November 7, 2005/PRNewswire/ - AMICAS, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMCS), a leader in radiology and medical image and information management solutions, today announced the company's second-place ranking in overall performance among all PACS providers in the acute care space, as measured by KLAS (November 1, 2005; www.healthcomputing.com). This marks the second consecutive year that AMICAS has received top rankings in the PACS category. Additionally, 100% of AMICAS customers surveyed would purchase Vision Series™ PACS again, and 100% would recommend it to a friend or peer.

"Our consistent high rankings in the KLAS report not only underscore AMICAS' commitment to the highest standards of product design and customer service, but also demonstrate our ability to compete and deliver in a dynamic marketplace. As our customer base has grown we have continually invested in services and technology to stay ahead of the curve." said Peter McClennen, president of AMICAS.

The findings did not surprise Daniel Stricof, MD, CEO of Radiology Limited-a multi-facility acute and ambulatory imaging practice in Tucson, Arizona which utilizes Vision Series PACS to interpret over 300,000 annual exams with 45 radiologists across eleven facilities. Radiology Limited installed Vision Series PACS in 2002, and has witnessed the growth, dedication to innovation and customer service at AMICAS. "AMICAS has always been the vanguard of technology innovation," says Dr. Stricof. "But what really sets them apart, and what I believe is the key to their success, is their interest in listening to their customers and developing solutions that supports the real needs of their customers."

In addition to its overall ranking, AMICAS also earned the top score for five key product and technology indicators, including:

  • Quality of Release and Updates
  • Quality of Custom Work
  • Product Works as Promoted
  • Interfaces Met Deadlines
  • Technology Easy to Implement and Support

AMICAS exceeded the average score in every category involving product and technology indicators, and scored at-or above-all vendor averages for each of the nine service indicators measured. Notably, AMICAS demonstrated the least variability in service related scores among the 12 vendors evaluated.
