VitalWorks Moving Executive Offices to Boston; New CFO

RIDGEFIELD, CT - (Market Wire) - October 1,

- VitalWorks Inc. ( NASDAQ: VWKS), a leader in radiology and medical image and
information technology solutions, today announced that it plans to move its
executive offices to Boston, Massachusetts in 2005. VitalWorks already has a
significant presence in Boston, following its acquisition of AMICAS in November
2003. As part of the move, VitalWorks has recruited software company executive
Joseph D. Hill as its new chief financial officer, effective October 1, 2004.
Mr. Hill replaces the Company's current CFO, Michael A. Manto, who will remain
on the VitalWorks board of directors.
