AMICAS PACS TOPS THE RANKINGS
RATED "#1 PACS" IN THE KLAS TOP 20: 2004 MID-YEAR REPORT
RIDGEFIELD, CT, JUNE 24, 2004 -- AMICAS, Inc., the Web-based picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) company, a wholly owned subsidiary of VitalWorks Inc. (NASDAQ:VWKS), has received top rating for PACS in the KLAS Top 20: 2004 Mid-Year Report Card (June 15, 2003, www.healthcomputing.com).
Evaluated against a total of 14 PACS vendors, AMICAS received the highest overall score on a 100-point scale, based on KLAS’ detailed customer survey of HIT performance data contributed by thousands of healthcare executives and professionals (e.g., CIOs, directors, managers and clinicians). KLAS specializes in monitoring and reporting the performance of healthcare information technology vendors. Their database, which is the foundation for the Mid Year Report, represents the feedback of over 4,500 healthcare facilities evaluating 300+ vendors and 500+ different products.
"AMICAS PACS solution has demonstrated high client satisfaction as reported by our database of healthcare IT performance measures from over 4,500 healthcare facilities. AMICAS PACS clients reported the highest rating in "PACS - Acute Care solutions," said Ralph Reyes, senior vice president of KLAS Enterprises. "In particular, AMICAS clients provided them the highest rating in the "keeps promises" factor and the highest cumulative score in the 28 performance factors which are called ‘primary and detailed indicators’. As reported by their clients, AMICAS' exceptional performance in delivering what they promised, along with the other aforementioned factors, have earned AMICAS the distinction of being ranked the top rated vendor in the PACS category."
In a prior report, KLAS’ PACS Perception Report (October 2003), AMICAS also scored the highest of all PACS vendors, emphasizing AMICAS’ client satisfaction.
"AMICAS continues to excel and we’re pleased to be recognized by our customers and KLAS as the highest ranking PACS vendor, " said AMICAS President and CEO Hamid Tabatabaie. "Our premier objective is to maintain the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction, while our customer base is expanding. The achievement of a number-one rating is no doubt a positive reflection on AMICAS. But most importantly, I believe it represents a powerful affirmation of our customers’ success with Vision Series PACS, a strategic clinical tool for both patient care and their organizations. Our philosophy is to go beyond delivering innovative technologies and to work with our clients to help them achieve their individual objectives. For that, we share this proud accomplishment with our esteemed customers."
