AMICAS PACS Scores Tops In Independent Industry Review, Achieving Highest Score In Six Of Eight Categories
Next Generation Customer Support Model Sets High Standard While Install Base Doubles in Size
Boston, MA, May 24, 2005 /PRNewswire/ - AMICAS, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMCS), a leader in radiology and medical image and information management solutions, has tied for the overall top score in the KLAS PACS Perception Report, April 2005 (www.healthcomputing.com). This is the second time AMICAS has placed at the top of the industry in PACS perception, having scored number one overall when KLAS performed their first PACS Perception Report in 2003.
Evaluated directly by PACS users and buyers against the leading ten PACS vendors in the industry, AMICAS Vision Series™ PACS tied for the highest overall average score. AMICAS was rated highest in six of the eight categories measured, including:
- Vendor Vision
- Clinical Workflow
- Web Distribution
- End User Presentation
- Cost/Value
- Integration
AMICAS also led all other vendors, by a significant margin, in overall average score by IT executives. "I am especially proud that healthcare executives and prospective buyers have recognized AMICAS and Vision Series PACS as the best of the best for the second consecutive report, " said Peter McClennen, AMICAS' president. "We believe this multi-year affirmation validates the simplicity and power of our PACS, the effectiveness of our services teams and most importantly, the continued success of our customers."
Since the original KLAS 2003 PACS Perception Report, AMICAS has continued to reap positive industry accolades, as noted by KLAS and other independent sources, while doubling the size of the installed base to over 180 unique image management customers, at over 325 facilities. McClennen commented, "This growth is supported by a next generation support model that utilizes our acclaimed AMICAS Insight SolutionsTM - the industry's #1 rated service and support team (KLAS End of Year 2004 PACS Report) and our Vision Watch application management software for proactive PACS support."
With AMICAS Insight Solutions, customers are able to quickly realize their goals of filmless and efficient imaging operations for their entire enterprise. Once Vision Series PACS is installed, Vision Watch provides a powerful tool that empowers customers to directly support their PACS. "AMICAS' high KLAS overall score by IT executives validates our state-of-the-art Web-based architecture, the proactive power of Vision Watch, and our innovative support methodology," McClennen added.
AMICAS Vision Watch enables both customers and AMICAS support personnel complete system management and reporting tools on a 24/7 basis. McClennen continued, "Vision Series PACS is significantly less complicated than traditional PACS and enables customers to support and scale the system directly, in partnership with AMICAS technical support. We empower customers to be more self sufficient, and by doing so, cost savings are achieved and passed on directly to customers resulting in greater customer value."
