AMICAS THINKS OUTSIDE THE BOX AT HIMSS ‘07
Solving real-world problems for its customers, AMICAS sets the pace in imaging IT
Boston, MA, February 26, 2007 /PRNewswire/ -- AMICAS, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMCS), a leader in radiology and medical image and information management solutions, today announced that the full portfolio of imaging IT solutions for hospitals and ambulatory imaging businesses will be on display at the HIMSS ‘07 Annual Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans, LA, from February 25 to March 1. AMICAS will be in booth #4010.
AMICAS will highlight four innovative new offerings that complement and extend existing product capabilities:
- RadStream is a next generation software product designed to optimize radiology workflow. Above and beyond the significant benefits of PACS, RadStream is proven to further reduce interruptions by nearly 25 percent and further improve report turnaround time by 40 percent.
- Vision Reach was designed specifically to address the unmet needs of the referring physician. Using the latest Web-based technologies, Vision Reach integrates the radiology report with key images and creates a single "multi-media" report for referring physicians. This report does not require the installation of any software, which improves adoption by referring physicians and should drive imaging volume.
- Insight Dashboards is a Web-based business intelligence platform that provides access to customized, easy-to-read graphical data for key performance metrics and indicators. AMICAS customers can leverage the dashboard presentation of their operations to clearly view and understand their imaging business.
- Insight Services is a suite of innovative, patient-friendly revenue cycle management services designed to accelerate the time it takes to convert receivables into cash. Insight Services is the result of AMICAS’ experience in managing over 80 million annual transactions and over 1,000 payers.
“HIMSS presents a tremendous opportunity for AMICAS to highlight the breadth of products and services we offer and the depth of innovation we are introducing to the market,” said Peter McClennen, president and COO of AMICAS. “AMICAS’ focus on solving real-world customer problems helps us bring to market our industry leading PACS, RIS, document management, and revenue cycle management offerings.”
AMICAS will be showcasing the recently released Vision Series PACS Version 5.0 as the image management platform of choice for hospitals. The AMICAS booth will feature the powerful bi-directional interface between all MEDITECH™ platforms and AMICAS Vision Series PACS. This smart interface delivers relevant clinical content directly from MEDITECH to the radiologist to improve efficiency and quality in the radiology department.
For ambulatory imaging businesses, AMICAS will have integrated RIS, PACS, document management, and revenue cycle management solutions on display. “AMICAS is setting the pace in imaging IT,” said Mr. McClennen. “We are the only true end-to-end provider of products and solutions in the ambulatory market segment. Our recent innovations with Insight Dashboards, Vision Reach, and Insight Services provide a level of focus on business efficiency and business and practice growth that was previously unavailable for customers in this market.”
